About Word of Life Family Church

Word of Life Family Church, located in Patterson, La, is .an independent community church that was birthed in the Hearts of Pastor Lee and Nell Lamury in Dec. 1981. In 1982 Word of Life had its first church service. Though independent in the legal sense, it has many healthy relationships with various denominational and non-denominational churches.

Word of Life exists to reach people and build lives. Our desire is for people to experience the fullness of life attached to having a life-giving relationship with Christ and others in the body of Christ.

Word of Life is a small group based church believing in the priest-hood of all believers. Our mission is to train, equip, and release every church member to do the work of the ministry (Eph. 4:11-12). We believe the most effective way to do this is to meet weekly "in the temple and house to house" Acts 2:46. We believe the body functions best when there are strong loving relationships between the brethren. Therefore, a full range of activities and opportunities are scheduled to help foster friendships and share opportunities. Further, we believe in the inherent worth of every person. Consequently, everybody is a somebody at Word of Life. We believe life change best happens through biblical teaching in our Weekend Services, in Small Groups, and through the .Journey.

Word of Life has a passion for both local and foreign mission opportunities. Each year, we give over 16% of our income to these efforts that extend around the globe. We support an orphanage in Guatemala, two clinics in Mexico, three bible colleges and many churches and pastors in Mexico, Cuba, Croatia and other parts of Eastern Europe. Additionally, we supplement the income of several travelling ministries.  Currently, we are related to three young Pastors in the U.S. and provide some resources for their churches.
