We know visiting a new church can feel overwhelming—What should I wear? Where do my kids go? Will I feel welcome? At Word of Life, we want you to feel right at home the moment you arrive. Here's everything you need to know before your first visit.
WHAT TYPE OF CHURCH IS WORD OF LIFE?
We are a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled, family-focused church with a heart to serve the world.
- We believe Jesus and His message of hope, freedom, and transformation is at the center of everything we do.
- We are a non-denominational church that embraces the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the active gifts of the Spirit to empower believers to be bold witnesses.
- We believe God’s desire is for every family to be rooted in Him and for every believer to become a disciple who shares the Gospel and serves others.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
There’s no dress code at Word of Life. You’ll see people in everything from jeans and sneakers to dresses and button-downs.
Come just as you are—we're just glad you're here.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ARRIVE?
You’ll be greeted with a smile by one of our Welcome Team members.- If you have kids, you can check them into Life Kids, our safe and fun children’s ministry.
- A 5-minute countdown will let you know when the service is about to begin—so you have time to grab a seat and settle in.
WHAT IS SERVICE LIKE?
- We begin with a time of energetic, passionate praise and worship.
- You’ll hear church updates and announcements, followed by a time for giving and prayer.
- Then we go straight into the weekend message, typically led by our Lead Pastor, Mark E. Gowan.
Our goal is to create a space where you can encounter God, grow in faith, and leave encouraged.
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?
Life Kids offers an engaging and safe experience designed just for children.- At check-in, our team will register your child and provide a secure name badge and parent pick-up tag.
- Let us know about any allergies or special needs, and we’ll make sure your child is cared for accordingly.
- If needed during service, you’ll receive a text alert from our system.
- After service, show your pick-up tag and your child will be safely released to you.
